With over 2,500 visitors from more than 50 countries, Women in Art – London is a significant international exhibition dedicated to presenting the artistic vision and contemporary relevance of female artists worldwide. The exhibition featured works by 150 women artists from across the globe, positioning it as an important platform within the international art scene.
Karin Sonesson presented a selection of works at the exhibition, including the mixed-media piece Peace, which reflects her ongoing exploration of harmony, human connection, and social balance.
Drawing conceptual inspiration from the symbolic values of the Olympic Games and Imagine, Peace conveys a hopeful vision of a world guided by empathy rather than conflict.
Sonesson’s practice is characterized by a tactile and layered approach, combining gesso, modeling paste, eggshells, alcohol ink, Posca pen, chalk, and acrylic. The resulting richly textured surface reinforces the conceptual depth of the work and encourages sustained, meditative engagement.
