Karin Sonesson’s first solo exhibition marked a significant and warmly received introduction of her work to the public. The exhibition was held at GalleriT, located on Österlånggatan in Gamla Stan, and attracted a broad and engaged audience.
The exhibition resulted in strong collector interest, with 11 paintings placed in private collections, including an international acquisition now held in Vienna. Several works resonated deeply on a personal level with collectors, illustrating how Sonesson’s visual language invites individual interpretation and emotional connection.
At the core of the exhibition was a desire to evoke reflection and emotional presence — allowing each viewer to encounter the works through their own experiences, associations, and sensibilities. The artist’s practice encourages dialogue rather than fixed meaning, creating space for both introspection and exchange.
The exhibition affirmed Sonesson’s commitment to creating works that carry a sense of light, energy, and quiet optimism — qualities that extend beyond the canvas and into the environments and lives they become part of.
